20th Century art movements: futurists, cubists, constructivists, and situationists. A historical
examination of the origins of various contemporary digital media types, genres and movements (e.g. Manovich notion of GENERATION FLASH. A look at new media categories and the various technologies which underpin them.
HANDS-ON
USING Audacity combined with Freesound to process and generate sound.
1) Students sign up with then download .wav files from freesound.org
2) Students then import these sounds into Audacity, add filters, reverb etc, and add tracks.
3) Students then export .wav files of mixed & processed sound for importing into "Liquid Identify" websites.
